ICON is proud to support the PTSD Foundation of America program Camp Hope Houston which offers temporary housing for Wounded Warriors

The unique team at Camp Hope, comprised of combat veterans and civilian pastoral staff, developed a 90+ day PTSD recovery program for residents to attend individual and group support sessions, participate in off-site small group interaction activities (fishing, hiking, local events), get involved with local organizations, and receive job placement assistance.

The Camp Hope community embraces our troops, veterans, and their families as they seek the rewarding and fulfilling lives they so richly deserve. Contact the PTSD Veteran Line at 877-717-PTSD (7873) for information, acceptance criteria, and availability. Visit the Camp Hope website to donate and help PTSD Foundation of America continue to offer the message of hope and healing to military men and women and their families.

According to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), over 48,000 American servicemen and women have been physically injured in recent conflicts. As many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. ICON supports the holistic approach that Wounded Warrior Project takes to honor and empower these warriors and their families. The mission of WWP is to care for the mind and body and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.

Programs include the Combat Stress Recovery Program, Transition Training Academy, Warriors to Work, and more. Please learn more about WWP here and consider a donation that will help make a difference in the lives of these heroes.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]One in three returning troops are being diagnosed with serious Post Traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms. San Diego Chapter (1)

Interfaith is building a new 10,000 sq ft Veteran and Family Resource Center on N. Ash St. in Escondido: This project will be an invaluable resource to serve local homeless veterans and their families. ICON is glad to partner with Johnson & Jennings and the rest of the project’s team for this center’s building supply needs and most importantly, we are grateful for this opportunity to help and support those in our community who deserve it the most.

Interfaith is the largest provider of veteran’s services in North County, according to Dean Dauphinais, director of veterans services for Veterans Assistance of San Diego, a division of Interfaith Community Services. Interfaith is trying to raise $2.75 million to complete construction of the new Veteran and Family Resource Center in Escondido.
